LUCID RECESS

Lucid Recess is an Alternative Metal band from Guwahati formed in April 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amitabh with drummer Satyam. Though the brothers have been playing their respective instruments for a long time, they have never really played with a band until then. The band played their 1st show in the Assam Engineering College PYROKINESIS 2004 in which they became 1st Runners up. They continued to play a number shows in Guwahati during that year. In early 2005, the band became inactive for quite sometime due to various engagements. During this period, drummer Satyam went to join Antariksh. In June 2005, their original 'The Samurai Crab' was selected for the compilation 'We Are The Scene Vol. 2', released by the Mumbai based label Ennui Bomb. In 2006, Tanmay joined the band as their drummer. Tanmay has been playing drums from a very young age and has played with a host of musicians and bands in Guwahati and outside. Recently he was involved in an Indo-German fusion project. They played their 1st show as the new lineup since late 2004 as a guest band in Regional Dental College BLITZKRIEG in April 2006. Since then, Lucid Recess have been playing shows in Guwahati.

The music of Lucid Recess can be best defined as a mix of Alternative Metal and Rock. They have released three songs on the internet in various sites such as 'Myspace', 'Soundclick', 'Showcase Your Music' etc and they were all well recieved by the fans. Even though they have not played too many shows, they have developed a considerable fan following on the strength of their originals.

Lucid Recess released their 7 song EP on 18th December 2007. An album is also planned to be released in the later part of 2008 or early 2009. Visit our website for lyrics, cover, etc..
