WE from our childhood have seen in every typical HINDI MOVIE that this is a BIG BAD WORLD and everyone who does wrong in the society is thrown in the JAIL and every innocent person always gets justice and we too believe these filmy fundas so deeply that deep within our hearts is engraved an idea that whosoever is imprisoned is an ugly charactered man and has no right to lead a social life even if he does want...... But is it really so that a man who is imprisoned is the real guilty when all the criminals are enjoying the VVIP status and government is busy playing dirty politics on their ruthless crime.
A few years back I happened to visit an exhibition of paintings and sculpture carved by the prisoners of NAINI CENRAL JAIL. I loved all the stuffs as it was not the result of a boring summer noon or a halfheartedly prepared one but I could visualize the intensity of passion they had put in to bring out those heavenly pieces of art which were a cause of astonishment for many others like me…
While praising and wondering, I happened to see that… one of the most pathetic things in my life…a painting which had nothing but setting sun in the holy Ganga river and the painting stated, THE LAST SUN I SAW IN MY LIFE FROM SHASTRI BRIDGE AND I KNOW I WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN……..
The condition of Indian jails is really far more miserable than we can imagine it to be. A few days back there was a news in the news paper that most of the prisoners are suffering from brain fever and there is no proper sanitation and cleanliness is an unanswered question there.. I still cant understand the reason why people in the jails are not considered to be humans. Are they the prisoners of humanity? I don’t mind giving them harsh punishments but what sucks is that, are they the one to be punished? What about thousands of those who are the known criminals but the police itself don’t have the courage even to touch them. What makes the situation worse is that the powerful criminals even if are arrested are provided with the homely care even in the prison. On one hand is old Tajveer singh waiting for his bail, at the age of 87 is in the jail just because he rose voice against injustice 35 years back and many other willing to see their families from which they have been apart for years, and on the other hand are powerful convicts like Afsal, the main accuse of Parliament Attack case, who will lead a normal life and keep on punching and insulting our constitution in the same and shameful manner…

Apart frm that..I deeply empathise with all the women inmates..Their basic sanitary requirements are not met..and the filthy cramped conditions make matters worse...
Isnt it imp that the above necessities are met..respecting the basic dignity of a Women?

Oooooooohhhhh... (sigh)
One more into the long list of questionnaires directed at the government...
Though the blog is touching and an eye-opener... It is the sad reality.. i mean, its not only the case with the Indian government but almost all of those...
Paradox will remain, no exceptions...
