An incorrect picture of the Blackberry Curve 8900 was printed due to an oversight and we regret the inconvenience caused.
Further more, we had pointed out that the Curve 8900 had mixed call performance, to which the BlackBerry PR did not agree and thought I was a goner for writing such derogatory stuff. I still stand by my statement and so does CNet.com's review of the phone.
But overall, the review was very positive and I hadn't had such a satisfying user experience with a phone.

In the next issue, we carried a comparison between the BlackBerry Storm, the Apple iPhone and the Nokia 5800. Here, except for a single round, we thrashed the Storm for being the most thoughtless product to come from the RIM stable. Methinks it was just meant to entice buyers into buying something other than the iPhone during Christmas, that’s all. And when the aim is so money oriented, products like the Storm are what you get.

That was when the PR got active and gave me a lesson in BlackBerry guidelines and RIM branding. The B in the Berry is supposed to be in capitals. Of course, that does not in any way change how badly the Storm sucks. Furthermore, no one noticed that when we fawned over the Curve 8900.

I swear, never have I been talked to in such a demeaning manner by any PR from anywhere in world. If you mention guidelines, you should be pointing us to them. If picking up the phone and fuming at a hapless writer is what floats your boat, you need all the “My Cheese” kind of books this planet has to offer.
Plus, I had imagined RIM and associated guys to be a really cool lot. This incident, quite obviously has changed my perception.
